Solving Problems With Universal Design for Learning
Universal Design for Learning Course designed to showcase Canvas and integrated tools to implement UDL practices.
Designing an Authentic Community in Online Courses
This workshop was designed to give learners some strategies to create an authentic community in an online course. Through the activities, both asynchronous and synchronous, learners were able to practice different community-building strategies as a participant as well as determine what might work best in their own online courses.
Using Video Tools to Empower Creativity
A hands-on virtual workshop that showcased a variety of tools and techniques that faculty can use to provide opportunities for students to ‘create’ in a course. The discussion focused on learning Adobe Spark and Canvas Studio to generate assignments that spark creativity and engage learners.
Transforming Teaching with Tablets Pilot Course
This course was designed to engage pilot participants in a more structured way. A new module was opened with training materials, an assignment, and a weekly survey each week.
Husky 101 Orientation
This course was created using Canvas and Articulate Rise to provide an engaging and informative introduction to Northeastern University for undergraduate students. It also serves as an introduction to the Canvas LMS, where they can access all their courses.
This course was developed to encourage all courses at the Harvard Chan School to embrace the Canvas Learning Management system and move beyond the basics to begin utilizing the platform to its full potential. For this course, I created modules in the Canvas LMS based on inter-related topics that include objectives, a series of short videos, an assignment, and an evaluation survey. There are also opportunities within each module to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement. The secondary intention is to create a community of educators who want to use Canvas to achieve better course organization and improve the learning experience. This secondary objective is achieved through the course activities, mainly discussion boards.
